Linus Torvalds was a man born on December 28, 1969. He is a Software engineer from Finland who created Linux. He is part of a Swedish speaking minority in Finland. He graduated from University of Helsinki in 1996 with a masters degree in computer science. He also joined the Finnish army in his first year of academics because of mandatory military service to Finland. The first time Linus started computer programming was around 10 years old. In 1991 he purchased his first personal computer but, he was not satisfied with the OS he had (Ms-DOS) So he began to make his own OS. He made a few copies/redesigns of different games like Pac-man including one called "Cool man".
His Invention Linus Torvalds is most know for his invention of Linux. The first prototypes that were released came out 1991 and version 1.0 came out 1994. With this invention and him releasing it to the public, some people made their own versions such as Ubuntu.
